From bride, Rachel Albrecht, regarding wedding
photography -
"Terri was an amazing person to work with. She focused
on my needs and went as far as standing on chairs,
kneeling on tables, and almost doing somersaults in
order to get a good shot. I was overwhelmed by her
energy and excitement, yet she was actually a stabilizing
element in one of the most nerve-racking and
emotionally charged days of my life. Every time I was
around Terri, she put me at ease which was honestly
priceless for me that day. I wanted artistic shots of my
wedding, something beautifully unique. Terri bent over
backwards to get those shots for me. I didn't need to
worry about that aspect of the day because Terri had it
all worked out. Her style flowed perfectly with the mood
of our wedding. I feel honored to have met her and to
have been apart of her artistic process."

From Philip Meza regarding professional headshots -
"Terri is a terrific photographer. I needed an author
photo for a book and Terri worked with me to create just
the right look. Her photo shoots are both fun and
relaxing, and Terri herself is extremely professional.
I also appreciated Terri's straightforward fee schedule
(no hidden charges) and willingness to turn over the
copyright. It makes using the photo for different
publications very easy!"

From Paul Smith regarding family portraiture -
"We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with Terri. She is one of
the most disarming people I have ever met and we all felt
so relaxed during our session. The quality of her photos
might say more about her than her knowledge of
photography. She'll be hearing from us again sometime
in the future, and probably several of our friends."

From Sarah Siemens regarding event photography -
"Thank you for taking such great pictures, Terri. You are
an awesome photographer! I dont know how to say it
exactly, but your pictures are able to capture so much
more than just images. It's similar to the multi-
dimensional effect of "scratch & sniff" stickers. Your
pictures are like snow globes... each one allowing you
look into a little world. Very awesome."

From Christine Le regarding family portraiture -
"I was instantly drawn to Terri's photos. I think they are
absolutely amazing. She uses lighting in such interesting
ways. Working with her was so easy, it was as though
we had known each other for years. She made me feel
comfortable in front of the camera, which isn't easy for
me. When we saw our photos, it was unreal. They are so
artistic and fun. We will treasure them forever."

From Blanca Garcia regarding modeling headshots -
"Terri is not only a talented photographer, but she also
made me feel comfortable and at-ease in front of the
camera. She made sure that my poses were strong and
that I looked my best for every shot. I didn't have to get
the pictures edited or air-brushed and when I send them
out to get modeling jobs, the people that hire me always
comment on the quality of the photographic work. I
loved working with Terri and would do it again in a

About Staff

Terri Loewenthal has been working as a fine art photographer since 1999. She first received her BA from Rice University in Houston, Texas and later perfected her photographic skills through courses and darkroom work at the University of California, Berkeley. She has shown work in galleries from New York to San Francisco.

As a member of the local music community, Terri began to photograph artists around the Bay Area for press shots and album covers. This began the natural transition of her fine art work into creative portraiture. It quickly became apparent that many in the Bay Area want creative documentation of their lives, be it family portraiture, headshots or special events.

Terri has a unique ability to make people feel comfortable when being photographed. This talent means that real people emerge from her portraits and photographs of special events.

Stephanie Penn, a recent graduate from Cornell College, is our current intern. If you are interested in an internship, please contact the studio.
